A Case of the Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma of the Biliary Tree

Abstract
|
|
|
Embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma of the biliary tree is extremely rare malignant tumor that occurs only in late infancy and children but must be considered in the differential diagnosis of obstructive jaundice in childhood. This tumor causes extrinsic pressure deformity of upper G-I tract similar to those of choledochal cyst but cholangiographic appearance is distinctive and unique. This type of tumor has bean reported in the literature in twenty-threw instances.
This is a report of a case of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma of the biliary tree in a 8 year-old female.
